Russian Railways to launch 1st locally-made Lastochka train Thu

MOSCOW, Dec 27 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways will launch the first fully locally-made Lastochka train, also formerly known as Siemens Desiro, on Thursday, a representative for the company told PRIME on Wednesday.

"The first fully Russia-made analog of Lastochka will start to run on the routes on the Russian Railways' network on December 28… The new train was called Finist, the name was chosen as a result of a people’s poll," the representative said.

The train will depart from Yekaterinburg to Kamensk-Uralsky.
